Eurostars project NO-PNP launched: a new approach to neuropathic pain

Our joint Eurostars project NO-PNP has officially started. Together with Akasi Pharma and IVRS AB, we are working on a novel, long-acting and non-opioid treatment for neuropathic pain.

A widespread condition with limited treatment options
Neuropathic pain is widespread and often debilitating for those affected. Current treatments frequently provide only limited relief and can cause significant side effects. This is where NO-PNP comes in.

Our contribution: the TEL platform
NovoArc is contributing its TEL platform to this Eureka project. Using our liposomal formulation technology, we aim to extend the duration of action of the peptide candidate AP-1001. The goal is a patient-friendly treatment that could potentially require only one injection per week.

Three partners, complementary expertise
The consortium brings together the partners’ complementary strengths:

Akasi Pharma: peptide development
NovoArc: formulation technology
IVRS AB: preclinical models and in vivo imaging

Funding
The project is supported by the European Union and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).

We look forward to working together to advance a new therapeutic approach for people living with neuropathic pain.
